Our History

The Meltique Beef brand was officially founded in 1981 by a visionary Japanese innovator, with the ambitious goal of transforming the beef consumption landscape in Hokkaido, Japan. This region, predominantly known for dairy farming, presented a unique challenge as the cattle in this area are not typically bred for meat production. Determined to minimise waste in the meat industry, the founder of Hokubee Co. pioneered initiatives to revolutionise beef production in Hokkaido and across the world.

In addition, our on-site laboratory conducts thorough testing before and after production to detect any potential contaminants. Meltique Beef was founded with sustainability in mind, driven by the need to find an innovative use for the growing population of dairy cows in Hokkaido. Handle like normal frozen beef. Designed with a long shelf life, we recommend storing frozen until you are ready to consume, using it the same day or next day after defrosting. Steaks can be cooked from frozen as well!
